Itinerary

Day 01: Drive from Bagdogra - Phuntsholing

• Arrive at Bagdogra airport & proceed to Phuntsholing (Approx 170 kms / 05 hrs)
• Check-in to hotel
• Depending on arrival time, local team leader will help with permit to enter Bhutan. This may happen on the same day or the next day as it depends on the rush at the office
• Over night stay at hotel

Day 02: Drive from Phuntsholing - Thimpu

• Post breakfast, check-out & drive to Thimpu (Approx 176 kms / 06 hrs)
• Check-in to hotel

Day 03: Day tour of Thimpu

• Post breakfast, proceed for day tour of Thimpu

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Indian Tourist traveling to Bhutan does not require any visa. However, they need a travel Permit to visit Bhutan.

Entering Bhutan by Surface:

• Indian nationals do not require any visa for Bhutan. A permit will be issued at the entry point on production of a passport (with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of departure) or Voter ID (only valid document for issuing the Bhutan Entry permit). The traveler also has to carry photocopy of the travel documents and 04 passport size photographs. For Children, Original Birth certificate in English and student ID is required.
• If you are entering Bhutan via land, it is to be noted that the permits are issued only during working days and hours. (Monday to Friday between 9 am to 4 pm during winters and 5 pm during summers). It is suggested that the travelers arrive a day prior in Phuentsholing so that they can get the permits done in time and to avoid season rush. No permits are issued on Saturday, Sunday and Bhutan government holidays.

Travel Documents required with physical presence of the guest:

• Valid Indian passport (above 6 months validity) or Voters Identity Card (anyone) is a must for 18 years and above.
• Child below 5 years (Original Birth certificate in English is required).
• Child between 6 – 17 years academic School Identity Card is required along with the Birth Certificate.
• 04 recent passport size photographs for each guest.

DO’S & DON’T’S

Smoking / Tobacco Products:

Any tobacco products and cigarettes are forbidden in the kingdom. For personal consumption passengers are permitted to bring 200 imported cigarettes (10 packets) on payment of 200 percent duty and 100 percent duty on Indian make tobacco products. Alcoholic beverage up to 1 liter for personal consumption is allowed.

Currency Notes:

Indian can carry Rs. 2000 & 500 notes upto Rs 25,000 only in Bhutan. Rest of the amount can be taken in smaller notes.  Few ATM Machines are available in Thimpu & Paro only.
