Women’s Journey Thailand campaign

First launched in August 2016, Thailand’s Women’s Journey campaign is set to be held again this after last year’s success. It is an initiative by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to attract local and international female travellers to enjoy some of the Thailand’s many attractions with a wide range of activities, special offers, discounts and privileges from the variety of products and services and events aimed at women, whether travelling alone or with groups of friends, to be arranged across the month of August.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor said, “We’ve designated August 2016 as a ‘month for women travellers’, in a way of marking Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 84th birthday and to encourage the growth of the global and domestic female traveller segment in collaboration with our strategy to promote Thailand as a Quality Leisure Destination.”

With research showing that women travellers are also concerned with safety, the campaign has tied up with various airlines, hotels, resorts, spas and tour operators to arrange various activities as well as offer special discounts and privileges throughout the month of August. Women will also enjoy a number of exciting promotions, discounts and special privileges will be offered to female travellers.
The campaign is divided into five different promotional concepts: Beautiful Look, Beautiful Shape, Beautiful Mind, Beautiful retreat and Beautiful Experience. All the products and services as well as special privileges will be featured in the “Women’s Journey Thailand” mobile application will be officially available in June.
Some of the special arrangements are being provided to female travellers in August; such as, Lady Immigration Lanes, called the ‘Pink Lanes’ (offered by five airports), along with Lady Parking and Lady Airfare. Significant activities to be held as part of the campaign are Lady Golf Challenge, Lady Celebrities to Thailand, Thailand through Her Eyes, 84 Perspectives of Thailand, Lady in Thai Fabric, and a showcase of Lady Products. The campaign enjoys broad support from various tourism related businesses and indeed many business and industry leaders attended the campaign launch to demonstrate their support for the initiative.

In the campaign’s mobile app, there is a feature which entitles a free SIM card with a data package from Dtac and a complimentary drink from Coffee World. A discount of 300 Baht is offered on the Grab Taxi feature of the campaign. Additionally, women holding a VISA Card will be offered a dining voucher from The Cook- Amarin Plaza and a shopping voucher for Club 21 with the amount of 5,000 Baht at the Emporium will be offered to the women. Complimentary gifts from participating department stores on Sukhumvit Road as well as enjoy discounts at stores in 20 provinces across the country are also a significant part of the feature. Those with a VISA premium card will receive a complimentary spa and signature dish for rewards claim in advance.
